Die Einwohner der benachbarten Orte Agrações und Póvoa de Agrações im portugiesischen Kreis Chaves teilen die traurige Gewissheit, dass ihre Heimat dem Untergang geweiht ist. Die Einwohnerzahlen sinken durch die Abwanderung stetig und sind aktuell bei unter einem Dutzend angelangt. Was fehlt, sind Zuzüger, die das Dorf beleben und die Infrastrukturen unterhalten. Mit diesem Schicksal sind sie nicht alleine, es ist ein verbreitetes Phänomen im Hinterland Portugals.
