Die Zeichen für die Olympischen Sommerspiele in Rio de Janeiro stehen schlecht. Man gibt sich aber trotzdem positiv.

95 Tage vor der Eröffnung der Olympischen Spiele in Rio macht das Gastgeberland schwere Zeiten durch. Die Vorfreude auf das Spektakel wird von einer grossen politischen Krise und einer wirtschaftlichen Rezession überschattet. Präsidentin Dilma Rousseff droht inzwischen die Amtsenthebung; die Justiz hat einen riesigen Korruptionsskandal um den staatlichen Ölkonzern Petrobras aufgedeckt, in den auch Rousseffs Arbeiterpartei verwickelt ist. Wegen des Zika-Virus fürchtet man um den erhofften Olympia-Tourismus. Einige nationale olympische Komitees haben es ihren Athleten sogar freigestellt, ob sie nach Brasilien fahren wollen. Doch Rousseff gibt sich kämpferisch: «Sie können sicher sein, dass die Spiele ein Erfolg werden.» Bis dahin gilt es, mehrere offene Baustellen zu schliessen.
